Cook Islands Turtle Conservation Society (Te Ara O Te Onu) is calling on local fishermen to check their net at least every four hours when they are out fishing. In the weekend the Ministry of Marine Resources (MMR) and the Te Ara O Te Onu assisted in the rescue mission of a Hawksbill sea turtle that was caught in a fishing net.
