The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration listed a species of coral, Cantharellus noumeae, known to occur in New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea, as endangered on November 6, 2015.  The final rule adding the species to the U.S. list of endangered and threatened species was published in the Federal Register.
