The year 2020 was an unusual one for Cook Islands Whale Research. To begin with, the Covid-19 pandemic. Border closures meant director and principal investigator Nan Hauser had a smaller team than expected for year’s whale season...Despite challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic, Cook Islands Whale Research is describing 2020 as an intriguing but ultimately successful year for furthering our understanding of earth’s largest mammals.
