Pauly, D. & Zeller, D. Catch reconstructions reveal that global marine fisheries catches are higher than reported and declining. Nat. Commun. 7:10244 doi: 10.1038/ncomms10244 (2016).

Ever wonder about those reported catches of fish and how accurate they are?  Well, scientists led by the organization, Sea Around Us, took a look at those catches from the seas and calculated the annual global fish catch to be roughly 109 million metric tons, about 32 million metric tons more than officially reported in 2010 by more than 200 countries and territories.  Read the paper and also look at the supplementary data which shows the underreporting country by country.  How good a reporting job is your country doing?
