The Government of PNG, through the Conservation and Environment Protection Authority (CEPA), has been actively engaged in launching its aligned National Biodiversity Targets with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
At the same CEPA is also preparing for the 2024 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)-Conference of the Parties (COP16).
This launch was completed with support provided by UNDP through the Globa;l Environment Facility (GEF), while the preparations for the upcoming COP16 have been facilitated by the European Union-funded Forestry-Climate Change-Biodiversity (EU-FCCB) Program.
