The Conservation and Environment Protection Authority (CEPA) has signed papers for the implementation of a Global Environment Facility (GEF) initiative under its funding replenishment cycle (GEF 8) to protect forest areas in the country. The GEF-8 will fund the project with K16.8 million through the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
