Chiefs from Efate have taken a significant step towards the conservation of 16,877 hectares of land, marking a 30-year milestone in the implementation of this initiative. The effort, carried out through the Efate Community Conservation Area (ECCA), aims to safeguard Efate’s natural, cultural, and historical resources for future generations. Under the ECCA umbrella, all flora and fauna, natural resources including water sources, and culturally significant heritage sites within its boundaries are shielded from harmful activities.
