The Coral Triangle, the global epicenter of marine biodiversity, took a bold step toward securing its future as 65+ marine conservation leaders gathered in Bali for a landmark regional workshop. From June 30 to July 3, IUCN, in partnership with the Coral Triangle Center (CTC) and the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF), convened MPA managers, policymakers, and experts from six countries to launch the IUCN Green List pathway for 12 pilot marine protected areas (MPAs) across the region.
