The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), determined endangered status under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended, for two endemic American Samoan land snails (Eua zebrina and Ostodes strigatus), the American Samoa distinct population segment of the friendly ground-dove (Gallicolumba stairi), the Pacific sheath-tailed bat, (South Pacific subspecies) (Emballonura semicaudata semicaudata), and the mao (Gymnomyza samoensis). The effect of this regulation will be to add these species to the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife on October 24, 2016.
