The Mata Tohora whale protection association is diving into an ambitious and innovative program. It has just announced the launch of Odyssey For Life, a 5-year study of the migration of whales that live in both Polynesia and Antarctica. Polynesian scientists will work closely with renowned international teams.
Three: that's the number of years of preparation that it took the Mata Tohora association to set up the Odyssey For Life project. “We took this time to set up a non-invasive research protocol so as not to disturb the whales, because their well-being remains our priority,” explains Dr. Agnès Benet. “So much so that we set up an ethics committee. It will ensure this throughout the project.”
