The Government, through the Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC), is working on including Lake Letes on Gaua island as a wetland of international importance under the Convention of Wetlands (Ramsar). Director of DEPC, Mrs Donna Kalfatak, confirms a submission has been made through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through an instrument to join the Convention.
