A new report has highlighted the state's coastal waters are at risk due to the lack of an integrated management system. The report, from The Australia Institute Tasmania and the Tasmanian Independent Science Council, said multi-level ecosystem assessment process needed to be adopted and an independent review of marine legislation undertaken. It said more marine areas needed to be included in the state's marine protected area system.
