Since the taramea (crown of thorns) was discovered on the reef floor of Rarotonga in July last year, 2800 of the coral eating sea creatures have been collected and destroyed. Operation Taramea was mobilised by marine biologist Dr Teina Rongo from the Korero o te Orau a Non-Government-Organisation (NGO). Dr Rongo presented his findings...on Friday at the University of the South Pacific Cook Islands campus.
