New research, co-authored by oceanographers at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, warns there are too many unknowns for deep-sea mining. For the first time, scientists now have a comprehensive overview of gaps in knowledge about ocean areas targeted for deep-sea mining and how they could be impacted.
