Loss and Damage

SPC announces the Second Call for Projects on Loss and Damage for Pacific Small Island Developing States.

Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark), this EUR 5 million initiative strengthens the ability of eligible PSIDS to assess climate-induced loss and damage, develop national strategies, and prepare for access to the forthcoming global Fund for responding to Loss and Damage.

🔎 Two areas of support

• Earth Observation of Loss & Damage Sites – high-resolution satellite data, coastal inundation mapping, and geospatial evidence (Fiji, FSM, Kiribati, RMI, Samoa, PNG, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu).

• Strategy, Policy & Planning Support – national strategies, readiness activities, and proposal development (FSM, Kiribati, RMI, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu).

🗓 Closes: 31 December 2025

💶 Max budget per project: EUR 250,000

👥 Eligible applicants: Government agencies, public institutions, civil society, NGOs, regional organisations and community groups.

This call forms part of SPC’s whole-of-organisation approach to strengthening climate action and resilience across the Pacific, delivered through the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Division with cross-sectoral scientific and technical expertise.
