Summary: This eight-week online course provides an overview of key issues related to protected areas system design and management. Key topics include: the state of the world’s protected areas, protected area integration, monitoring, technology, transboundary design &management, protected area finance, climate change and governance. Participants will interact with world-known protected area specialists from the United Nations, IUCN, WWF and The Nature Conservancy. Live webinars will be offered each week. The course is aimed at protected areas practitioners, managers and policy makers. It will be offered in English, French and Spanish.
