Two sites in Western Australia amassing to an area larger than Tasmania have been placed in the care of traditional owners. The land totalling seven million hectares has been declared Indigenous Protected Areas and dedicated to the National Reserve System. The Ngadju people in WA's Goldfields and the Ngururrpa people in the Great Sandy Desert will receive more support and autonomy in traditional land management practices.
