While a Commission of Inquiry into the matters relating to illegal logging activities in Vanuatu was established last month, an inquiry was also undertaken three years ago in 2017 by a former officer in the Forestry Department following a request from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Bio-security, into operations surrounding the export of Rosewood products.
