Vanuatu joined the global community in celebrating World Tourism Day yesterday, highlighting the role tourism plays in economic development and its broader social and cultural impacts. This year, the day focused on the theme “Tourism, Justice, and Peace,” emhasising the importance of creating a sustainable tourism industry for future generations.
In recognition of this day, the Chanel Sam Botanical Garden was officially launched in Tagabe, in collaboration with the Departments of Forestry and Agriculture. Located within the Forestry Department grounds, the garden aims to become a new tourist attraction, showcasing the rich diversity of Vanuatu’s indigenous plants, all displayed under their native names.
