Blue Prosperity Vanuatu (BPV) continues to support the goal of healthy oceans, resilient communities, and a sustainable future for the people of Vanuatu.
In November 2025, the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu passed the Oceans Act, a landmark law that restores authority over coastal waters to chiefs and coastal communities who depend most on marine resources. The Act provides for the development of a national ocean roadmap to ensure public participation in marine resource management, while aligning Vanuatu’s ocean governance with regional and global sustainable ocean management frameworks.
The Oceans Act also supports the objectives of Vanuatu’s National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) and creates pathways for partnerships, investment, and access to international finance.
