Seeking a year 5 school in the Pacific to connect.
Holland Park State School in Brisbane Australia is looking to connect our Year 5 students (around 10 years old) with a class in the Pacific to discuss real-world issues they face related to the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals. We believe this would be a fantastic opportunity for both sets of students to gain a deeper understanding of global challenges and different perspectives.
Our students will be using a Design Thinking approach to brainstorm and develop potential solutions to some of the issues students in the Pacific face in relation to the UNESCO Sustainability Goals. Our hope is to then share ideas with you, potentially leading to tangible benefits for your school community and increase our understanding of the issues Pacific Island communities face.
We envision this as a mutually beneficial partnership that could involve:
* Video calls: To allow students to introduce themselves and share their experiences.
* Photo and video exchanges: To give a glimpse into each other's daily lives and environments.
* Discussions around specific SDGs: Focused on challenges and opportunities relevant to your community "
