The Centre for Sustainable Futures (CSF) at The University of the South Pacific (USP) houses the South Pacific Regional Herbarium (SPRH) โ€“ a hub of botanical science, biodiversity conservation and regional ecological knowledge.  With a rich history dating back to 1933, this vital institution has not only preserved the Pacificโ€™s botanical heritage but has actively contributed to global scientific discovery and regional sustainability.

SPRH began as the Fiji Herbarium, founded by botanist B.E.V. Parham from the Fiji Department of Agriculture. Over the years, it has grown into a major plant species repositories research and education facility, now recognised both regionally and internationally.
