According to the recently launched IUCN World Heritage Outlook 2, The only site with a critical outlook in the Pacific region is East Rennell, Solomon Islands which was inscribed in 1998 and has long been celebrated as the first natural WH site under customary ownership and stewardship... According to the Outlook assessment, the local community needs more government, financial and technical support to better protect and manage the site, which has also been on UNESCO's List of World Heritage in Danger since 2013.Click on the link below to access both the summary and full conservation outlook assessment for East Rennell.
