Ocean Acidification (OA), which is being labelled as the “evil twin” of climate change, has had a severe impact on these coral reefs, as well as on food security and community livelihoods.

A new facility dedicated to helping Pacific Island countries prepare for and cope with the impacts of the climate crisis is being officially opened today in Samoa.

A new milestone is being reached for the Pacific Islands, with the very first Pacific Invasive Species Programme Management course coordinated by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) with the Pacific Regional Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS).

SPREP is seeking to recruit a Finance and Administration Assistant for the Pacific Ecosystem-based Adaptation to Climate Change (PEBACC) Project -Solomon Islands. Link below for further details. 

The Pacific Climate Change Centre to be based in Samoa, will open in September.The centre will be the first of its kind in the region and will deliver capacity development programmes in adaptation, mitigation, climate services and project development. Link to full article below.
